Renaissance Academy is a subsidiary of Renaissance Chinese Opera Society which is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Renaissance Academy’s objective is to promote the teaching of Chinese culture, arts and extracurricular enrichment activities to the local communities. Our summer camp is licensed and registered with State of New Jersey to comply with all the safety standards.
Renaissance Academy Summer Camp provides children a safe and fun environment to promote a variety of enriched cultural, academic and innovative activities such as Chinese Language, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, Chinese Folk Dance, Arts & Crafts, Creative Drawing, Robotics, 3D Printing, Archery Lessons, Chinese Yo-Yo, Chinese Tea Ceremony Culture, Vocal Music and other fun activities specially tailored for kids between ages 6 to 12. In addition to indoor activities, we offer fun, exciting and meaningful day trips to aquarium, parks, theatre, bowling, farm, and organize performances at the senior homes to help kids earn volunteer service hours.
Our skilled and enthusiastic instructors create a caring, stimulating and supportive environment for participants to develop. We provide the perfect setting to extend the learning that takes place during the school year by giving children the opportunity to be innovative and discover new interests.
Our full day Program is dedicated to the idea that a child’s summer should be about having fun, learning new things, meeting new friends, and exploration! We offer a wide range of activities to help your child’s social development, confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and inquiry. The camp includes many hands-on and engaging activities.
Keeping working parents in mind, our affordable summer camp offers extended hours from 8:30am – 6:30pm. We understand summer is hard if you have school-age children. 11-weeks of summer break is no picnic. Renaissance Academy’s schedule is designed to accommodate parent’s schedule by providing affordable summer camp until school reopens. During 11-weeks of summer camp, parents can pick and choose any week to participate in. Our camp fee is based on weekly participation, but you must register early to secure a spot. We also offer 10% off for 2 or more children enroll in the camp. The first child still pays the standard fee.
Renaissance Academy does not compromise affordable camp fee with the quality of our instructors. Renaissance Academy is proud to have a group of first-class teachers. Jenny (Yong-Hong) Jia, a well-known professional Chinese Opera performer, Movie/TV Actress and teacher will be personally leading the campers. Ms. Yun Chen received her Master from Columbia University will be teaching 3D-Printing. Ms. Hua Jiang received Master of Fine Arts from Nanjing University of the Arts, one of the top fine arts institutions in China. Ms. Jiang has over 15 years of teaching experience. She will be leading the Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, Tea Ceremony, and Chinese Language classes. Ms. Christine Sun graduated from Beijing Dance Academy, the top performing arts institution in China will be leading the dance class along with Ms. Jia. Our Robotics team will be let by 3Ducators. The team has recently won the 2019 Robotics World Championship. We also partnered with Two River Archers to provide children with optional archery lessons. Two River Archers is a non-profit organization and a member of the U.S. Junior Olympics. In addition, the academy will introduce different types of music instruments to the children.
As a non-profit organization, we believe in serving the communities. We have partnered with many local senior homes and other non-profit organizations. Our campers will have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours and get involved with global community service by making e-NABLE 3D-printed prosthetic hands. Most importantly, we want every camper to have a safe and exciting summer!
